5th Anniversary of SketchCrawl

Finally, we went on a SketchCrawl ...
I've been wanting to give it a go for ages and Mike and I went out yesterday and had fun sketching random things. He also got some amazing photos, of a friendly lizard, birds and the like. It was a good, though very hot (at times uncomfortably so) day, so we only got about 1.5-2 hours sketching done. We'll definitely be in it again. Mike didn't want to show his sketches (too shy), but here are a few of my efforts. Happy anniversary SketchCrawl!

Illustration Friday: Germs

A very quick, fun sketch to do for the topic of 'Germs' - Mike said they made him not want to wash his hands! Friendly germs. *Note: I still don't have a scanner, so this photo will have to do.

The blue lighting gave a really good effect - no photoshop necessary ...
a little bit under the weather

I've been struggling with a series of colds lately - not much fun but not life-threatening obviously, either. If nothing else having the odd sick day gives me a chance to sit in the quiet and think about things - do a few restful odds and ends that would never get done in the rush of regular life. Like post on this blog! Though I can't guarantee the coherency of the post. Here are some pretty spring flowers (ranunculi) I picked up last week - they are very cheery and the sort of lovely, natural object that, being in your home, can't fail to make you feel at least a little uplifted. Nature is a fabulous thing.
