a new purchase ...
feeling special

Well I turned 30 and it was very wonderful, felt absolutely no different but that was to be expected really.
Had a lovely dinner and recieved some gorgeous presents - it's nice to feel so spoiled occasionally! I am now the proud owner of a digital camera (thanks HB and N!) which will help me ever so with my blogging. I was able to see my Nana and Uncle whom I haven't seen in a terribly long while, and catch up with a few precious others also. So thankyou to all those who sent loving messages and saw me over that time. M and I were scheduled rather choc-ful that weekend, so those of you I didn't get to catch up with, consider yourselves booked for the next time we're down in Adelaide.
I have almost decided (still thinking!) to start a new project. It will be more along the lines of illustration than craft, though the crafty side will likely come out because of the subject matter. Let's just say it initially involves children and illustrations. Still in the infancy of ideas stage so more to come.
Finished reading 'Northanger Abbey' (Jane Austen) some time ago and did enjoy it - my favourites so far are still 'Sense and Sensibility' and 'Emma' however. The latest one in the collection I've read is 'Mansfield Park' - a nice book but the heroine drove me a little nuts (as they sometimes do). Now I am on to 'Persuasion', though I once read it many years ago, it should be fresh to me again. Then on to Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty Four' and Dickens' 'Great Expectations' (read that one years ago too, but can't for the life of me remember much about it!).

The waterlily images have been taken in the apartment complex gardens, they have a Japanese theme to them (with little ponds, a bridge and some nice stone lamp statues) and despite the nasty looking green algae in the pond waters, the lilies make a lovely sight. The one above is a little blurry - still getting the hang of the camera ... gorgeous colours though.
sick!
Oh no! I have a cold. Fine timing, right before my birthday, lol.
I hope it goes away.
my portrait by south park

Ok, so, this is pretty funny!
You will want to make ones of your family, possibly friends, maybe even the neighbours. It is addictive and will have you messing around with it for hours. Make your own, here.
(and don't say I didn't warn you).
the day off
Sort of got the day off today - though I did have stuff to do, an appointment, making up a CV for Mum, looking at lots of websites. A little cleaning and tidying. The usual. Still haven't started making the bunny yet. I can see the fabric sitting just. over. there. Still have the latest issue of Notebook to read too, oh and after visiting over the weekend - must add - I could live at Wheel & Barrow. Love it that much. So many purty things ... PS I am aware the octopus has 9 arms. Some may call it an inability to count. I call it artistic licence.
